Attend an Information Session

Come find out more information about our two year post-graduate program in marriage and family therapy! At a Denver Family Institute information session, you will get a chance to tour our clinic and learn more about our highly respected MFT Training Program, the course carriculum, and much more. These information sessions will take place at our main DFI campus and clinic at 3600 South Yosemite Street, Suite #1050, Denver 80237.

Information Session Dates for Fall 2018 Acceptance

12/6/2017: Wednesday at 12pm 

1/8/2018: Monday at 1pm

2/2/2018: Friday at 1pm

3/26/2018: Monday at 12p

4/25/2018: Wednesday at 12p

 

Registration is required in order to attend a DFI information session.

 

 
How to Apply
We are now accepting applications for our Fall 2018 cohort! Before beginning your application, please make sure you have fully read the application instructions. Application for admission to DFI MFT Training Program includes the following items:

 

1. Submit an Online Application
•  The online application includes the following items:
○  Resume or CV
○  Non Discrimination Policy
○  Statement of Intent Essay – This essay should include your interest in MFT as a profession and your interest in the DFI program. Tell us how this program fits with your professional goals and who you are as a person. Essays may include, but are not limited to: background and experiences with MFT, how you decided to pursue MFT, what you will bring to the program, your strengths and weaknesses as a potential MFT, and what you want out of your time at DFI. Essay should be 2-3 pages, typed, double spaced.

 

 

2. Pay the Application Fee

 

 

3. Send Official Undergraduate & Graduate Transcripts to DFI (From ALL Schools Attended)

 

4. Send Two Letters of Recommendation to DFI

 

5. Complete the Online Personality Questionnaire
•  Please complete the questionnaire after your online application and prior to the deadlines:
○  1st wave – February 21, 2018
○  2nd wave – May 14, 2018

 

 

Please make sure to complete all required pieces of the application. An application will be considered complete when all items have been received. All electronic official transcripts and letters of recommendation (preferred method) can be sent to: admissions@denverfamilyinstitute.org

Application Due Dates

Intern Applications

If you are interested in doing your master’s internship at DFI, make sure to apply in our first wave: applications due on February 21st

First application round:

If you are interested in doing your master’s level internship at DFI, you must apply in this round. 

All application materials are due on February 21st at 11:59pm

If extended, group interviews for first wave applicants will be held on February 28th

Second application round:

All application materials are due on May 14th at 11:59pm

If extended, group interviews for the second wave applicants will be held on May 21st.

Important 2018 Dates if Accepted:

3/2 – First wave applicants interviewed will be notified of acceptance

3/9 – New Student Orientation fee of $150 is due from accepted students

3/16 – $1,000 fall 2018 tuition deposit is due

5/23 – Second wave applicants interviewed will be notified of acceptance

5/30 – New Student Orientation fee of $150 is due from accepted students

6/6 – $1,000 fall 2018 tuition deposit is due

8/6 – Interns at DFI begin – Intern Orientation

8/13 – Clinic Training for all new fall 2018 students

8/20 – New fall 2018 students begin supervision and are able to begin seeing clients at the clinic

9/7 – New Student Orientation and celebration for all new fall 2018 students

9/12 – Classes start for all new fall 2018 students
