Who comes to the training program at DFI?: Students who have or are obtaining their Masters level degrees in social work, counseling, community mental health, or related fields! DFI allows those persons to extend themself to the field of Marriage and Family Therapy by providing them a COAMFTE Accreddited Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. This program is tailored to those who do not already have a MFT.

How much does the training program cost?: Interns pay a reduced rate because they do not pay for supervision and they assist us with our administrative tasks. Interns pay $395 per quarter (Fall, Winter, Spring)

Post-Graduate students pay $1,375 per quarter (Fall, Winter, Spring). This includes two classes (hours are NBCC CEU’s and can be counted towards your license or continuing education for your license), 6 individual supervisions, and 10 hours of group supervision.  Many people wonder why the program costs more in the post-graduate year, but some people will pay over $1600 for that much supervision from Approved Supervisors.

Summer: summer supervision costs $500/summer for group and individual. Each student must be in supervision in order to see clients at our clinic

Can I work full time AND do the program? Absolutely! Most of our post-graduate students work full time within the field. While we require 500 clinicl hours to graduate form DFI, 250 of those hours may come from a job if it incorporates family therapy.

Does my supervision count for my licensure? If you have graduated from grad school, supervision can count towards various licenses, including but not limited to: LPC, LCSW, CAC, LMFT. We will take into consideration which licenses you are pursuing when we assign your supervisor!
