Prospective Students

We are accepting applications for the Fall 2012 Quarter. Unfortunately, we do not offer rolling admission at this time. After application is complete, qualified persons will receive and invitation to our group interview day. Please read this entire page before applying!

Interviews for the 2012-2013 Academic Year will take place:

Friday, February 24, 2011 9:00-1:00

Friday, July 20, 2011 9:00-1:00

2012-2013 Application Deadlines:

 Applications for the 2012-2013 Academic Year are due February 20, 2012 for the February 24th Interview and by July 13th for the July 20 Interview.

Admission Pre-requisites for Post Graduate Students:

  • Completion of at least a Master’s Degree in mental health or a related field, e.g., psychology, social work, , pastoral counseling, vocational rehabilitation, etc.
  • One year of direct clinical experience with couples and/or families, preferably beyond the Master’s degree.
  • Completion of an introductory class or workshop in marriage and family therapy.*

*While applicants must meet our admission requirements, DFI will give life-experience consideration if they demonstrate equivalence.

Admission Pre-requisites for Interns:

  • Interns should begin their internship at DFI during the end of their graduate program
  • Previous Internship/Practicum experience
  • We work with the following graduate schools: Capella, Colorado State University, Colorado Christian University, DU GSSW, Denver Seminary, Regis University, University of Northern Colorado. If your graduate program is not on this list, please inquire!
Application Requirements:
  • A completed application form
  • A $50 non-refundable application fee.
  • A certified copy of graduate school transcript and final undergraduate transcript .
  • Two letters of reference.
  • A statement of intent (see application for details)

After the admission packet is complete, you will be notified for a group interview.
