Welcome to Empowered, a monthly newsletter created and previously published by Envision:You, a nonprofit founded to close gaps in behavioral health outcomes for LGBTQIA+ Coloradans.
In September 2025, the flagship programs of Envision:You (EY) were integrated into Denver Family Institute (DFI). This partnership has created sustainability for EY’s community programming, as well as grown DFI’s affinity-based models of care to support Colorado’s diverse communities, including LGBTQIA+ Coloradans.
The identities we carry directly impact how we navigate healthcare systems, how we engage in advocacy, how safe or unsafe we feel in the therapy room, and so much more. Affinity-based care at DFI prioritizes meeting community members where they are at, through honoring lived experiences and co-creating spaces of safety and belonging. This work currently includes partnering with Judi’s House and Adam’s Purpose to offer monthly Healing Circles for Black families experiencing loss and grief; and a soon-to-launch intergenerational program with The Center on Colfax for LGBTQIA+ teens and their caregivers.
This newsletter will serve as a monthly resource for upcoming events and trainings, partnership highlights, recommendations from the DFI team, and future opportunities for engagement to ensure we are providing content of interest to you!
