This workshop will involve a deep dive into the 4-step treatment approach for treating kinky couples which can also be used for many other common concerns in sex therapy such as: cross dressing, fetishes and many others.

Developed by Dr. Cannon, one of the leading experts in human sexuality and treating kinky clients. Dr. Cannon uses a strength-based approach that is always present as we explore how to help couples achieve their therapeutic goals.

Dr. Cannon is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, published author, speaker and clinician. Dr. Cannon is also an instructor at The University of Michigan School of Social Work and Sexual Health Certificate Program and has served as the Colorado Section Leader for the American Association of Sexualtiy Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) since 2007. Dr. Cannon has been involved with DFI since 2005, first as a student, then as faculty, and now as faculty and Board Chair.

Dr. Cannon’s oft cited doctoral dissertation was “A Psychological Assessment of BDSM Practitioners.” Dr. Cannon is considered an expert when it comes to treating kinky clients with multiple publications on the subject and over a decade of teaching this subject. Dr. Cannon is an instructor at The University of Michigan School of Social Work and Sexual Health Certificate Program and has served as the Colorado Section Leader for the American Association of Sexualtiy Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) since 2007. Dr. Cannon has been involved with DFI since 2005, first as a student, then as faculty, and now as faculty and Board Chair.
